Start the year with a freebie!

This is one of my earlier kits with a theme of "non furry animals." Okay, so there's a ferret in there too, lol. But I'd like to clear out some of my older kits and make sure my store stays representational of all I've learned and how I've developed as a designer. (That's fancy talk for, "I'm not as proud of this one as I was when I first made it" LOL!) But my shame is your gain, because I'm giving it away for free for the first week of January. After that, it disappears forever.

Here's where you can download this little beauty:

Be sure to check out the ADSR blog tomorrow to see a preview of the prize for the first challenge! Don't forget, the Race begins January 2nd and you don't want to miss out!!

What a lovely holiday we're having!

I hope you can all say the same. Today is the first day of "real" vacation, by which I mean the kids are home and dh is NOT. So, vacation for everybody but me. :P The kids are happily playing with games they received: Ben is playing Hot Wheels World Race on the GameCube, and Rebecca is playing Nintendogs on her DS. She has a little dalmation puppy named Cupcake and she's trying to teach her to roll over, lol. DH couldn't find the Hot Wheels game online so he ended up buying it used at Game Stop. But when I went to peel the sticker off, I discovered the original price underneath the used price...and it was cheaper when it was new! What's the deal with THAT?

Lest you think I plopped them in front of video games all day, I must tell you that we did make lots of fun paper things with origami paper. We learned that cranes are HARD! And stars are easy once you get the triangle cut out properly. Rebecca used her star to make me a "you're the best mom ever" card. Awwww. Was that me complaining about having the kids home last paragraph? :D

We had "Christmastime for the Jews" yesterday. Yup, movie and Chinese food. There were almost no seats left when we got to the showing of "Night at the Museum," and the show before ours had sold out. All four of us loved it, even though I had seen some mediocre reviews. I guess it helps that we're in NY and have been to that museum several times. Highly recommend it: those scenes from the previews that look really scary, aren't so much. Good time was had by all.

I don't imagine I'll be online much with the kids home, but I do need to start loading up the names of the Racers at the ADSR blog, and I have a few ideas for some new digital kits and elements. So check back here from time to time to make sure you don't miss out. And remember, I have a really pretty and elegant winter kit called
"Dream by the Fire" that will be so nice for those wintertime photos. You can see a few of the papers and elements in my blog header. Keep warm and happy new year almost!

Pulling my hair out

I hate holiday shopping. I mean, at least being Jewish I get to avoid the major pain involved in shopping on December 24 for last minute stuff. And since the kids are still pretty little I don't get involved too much in shopping for the "hot" item of the year. Yet. But this year DH and I decided to get our 5yo son a Nintendo DS Lite for his "big" Hanukkah present. DD already has one, the white one, so I was going to get him the black one. Well.

I'd seen them all around for a while and didn't think it would be a problem getting one, so I went to Target today with the intention of buying it. Nope. All gone. They called around for me, nada. I came home and went online. NOTHING. Every place that sells them is out of stock. One place had a note that said the delay was at the manufacturer. So I'm thinking, they're trying to increase the demand by holding back the supply. Creeps. I guess I'm just going to have to buy the white one and mark them somehow to tell the difference. I still have a few days while we wait for DD's "big" present (a microscope) to arrive from Amazon. So if any of the Racers on the Amazing Digiscrapping Race want to have a better shot at winning the grand prize, they can get me a DS Lite Onyx!!! (only kidding) (well mostly)

New mini kit!

My newest kit is a remake of a smaller kit I created last year in honor of my friend Carol. I've updated and expanded it to true mini kit size, and added a beautiful enameled COMPLETE alpha (upper, lower, numbers, and symbols). Normally $4, it's introductory priced at only $3 until December 15. As always, you can click the preview to be taken to the store, where you can read more about the kit as well as see closeup views of the papers and elements. I hope you like it!! And don't forget, I have a coupon in the December DST newsletter!
