Well lookie here

New products! YAY! These little beauties will be available tomorrow at Elemental Scraps' makeover party. The kit will also be at NDISB, but right now I'm too busy getting all my kit previews changed over for the ES new look to get it up in the store. I'll let you know NDISBers know when it's ready over there. The paint swooshes will ONLY be available in the super dee duper MEGA GRAB BAG for now, and they'll be up in the ES store after the grab bag is gone. I've had a lot of fun working on these products and I hope you enjoy them!

Oh bother

Theresa has gone and tagged me, that booger. So I'll type up seven things you may or may not know about me, but I'll spare everyone else by not forwarding on the tag. Kay?

1. I have an uber-cool authentic '70s Pinball Wizard pinball machine in my basement. It was here in the '70s when this house was the main house for the day camp that is currently a big swath of McMansions which surrounds our modest little farm ranch.

2. If I had all the money in the world I would buy up said McMansions, tear them down and plant lots of trees. Then I'd build a couple cottages and use them for my friends and relatives to come visit me or even live in.

3. My husband and I met doing musical theater. He was Marcellus and I was in the chorus of The Music Man. We didn't start dating until a year later when he was in the chorus and I was assistant stage manager for Guys and Dolls. We later went on to have large parts in the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta "Patience." We're currently co-starring in the interminable farce called "Raising Kids." <--(That last was a joke.)

4. I never drank alcohol until the day I turned 21. I insisted that they card me even though the (cute) waiter winkwink nudgenudged us that he wasn't planning on carding anyone at our table that night.

5. I hide candy in the office desk to eat while surfing the web and designing. It's behind the photo of me and my brother when we were little.

6. I hate to sweep the kitchen floor. One of the main reasons I want to get a dog is for its crumb-elimination capabilities.

And finally:

7. I can wiggle my ears without touching them with my hands. I can also lift up the little toe on my right foot and cross it over the fourth toe without touching it with my hands. I am unable to accomplish this feat (heh) on my left foot.

8. And one freebie: despite the fact that I have a reasonably decent singing voice (see #3) I have never watched an entire episode of American Idol.

There you have it. Hope you enjoyed that little insight into the minutiae of my life.

Hey kiddos

I hope you haven't been worried about me. I know I haven't posted anything interesting lately, particularly no new products, but there's a reason for that. Thanks to the kind understanding of my shop owners, I've decided to take the month of May off to regroup. I've just been too slack about very important activities in my life, like keeping house and being truly "there" in the moment for my family. I'm always off in designer land, either on the computer or thinking about new designs. And as a stay-home mom there's really no excuse for the cleaning to be done so sporadically. So I'm working on reorganizing my priorities and my time, and I hope to be back to designing again very soon.

If you want the real truth, I actually have made a couple of things and they're so different from anything I've done before. I guess because I haven't felt the pressure of "I need to get these done and get them up in the store before such-and-such deadline." I've just been noodling around, trying some tutorials, checking out new resources, and enjoying Photoshop for a while. And the results are turning out to be pretty awesome. I can't wait to share them with you, but I need to keep plugging away at my time management first. It will be worth the wait, I promise.

Anyway, I have to go get the kids out of the bathtub but I wanted to let you know I haven't dropped off the planet. Enjoy your families and your life, and go scrap! :D

Try not to fall over

I've been scrapping! Yes! I've been neglecting my memory keeping duties in lieu of designing lately, so I'm making an effort to scrap some older photos and take new ones to scrap. Here are some of the things I've done recently.

Princess for a Day credits: Kit is "Flutterby" by Laura Pitman at Elemental Scraps. Template is from Collection 15 by Jen Caputo at Scrapbook Graphics.

Let's Go Slugger credits: Papers by Monica McLain from the Freedom's Ring mega kit at NDISB. AWESOME paper tear effect by Helena Jole at NDISB. And that's my Frameworks Classic layered template frame there too.

Spring Play credits: Kit is "Spring Song" by Eugenia Bacon at Elemental Scraps. Sludgy Seal is by Miss Mint at Peppermint Creative. Binder clip is from the Bookbag Essentials kit by Gina Cabrera at Digital Design Essentials. And the AWESOME torn border template is new from Jen Caputo at Scrapbook Graphics. I love these cool things! And the layout design was inspired by Candice Greenway's "Be Afraid" layout that I saw on the Multiphoto Scrapbook Layout blog.
